Aaron Rodgers is back on the Jets 53-man roster despite being ruled out for the season, with Robert Saleh telling reporters that it is part of Rodgers’ continued recovery from Achilles surgery.
It is not a move that Keith was very thrilled about.
“He better win the Super Bowl,” Keith said. “Because he’s now Woody Johnson. Now he’s the owner of the Jets. That’s nuts. This is the guy that you’re letting get the 53rd roster spot for what? I really don’t know. He could be there in street clothes, but they gotta get this guy on the field taking reps. So dumb.
“You still have three games left to win. Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t get one single rep in practice. But show me you’re unserious about winning. Show me you don’t really care. Show me you’re lost as a franchise. Show me you’re not actually doing business in the NFL the way the rest of the league does.”
Keith says the decision to activate Rodgers despite him being ruled out for the year is another bad look by a franchise that has provided plenty of them over the years.
“It’s a circus. It’s a clown show,” Keith said. “Have Aaron Rodgers out there in his big green helmet throwing passes for your Instagram account.”
