Despite frustrations seeming to boil over on the sideline within the Jets offense, from running back Michael Carter having to be pulled away from his running backs coach to Garrett Wilson looking frustrated while looking over video with Zach Wilson, Zach’s teammates continued to back him after Sunday’s 15-10 loss to the Patriots.

Mekhi Becton even expressed frustration with how the home fans treated the struggling quarterback during the game, where Wilson threw for just 157 yards.

“I'm always feeling for my teammates, I was feeling for everybody,” Becton said. “I was a little bit pissed off with the things they were saying. I will also fight for my brothers and whatever they got going on.”

As for Zach’s top receiver, he didn’t hesitate when asked if he still has faith in his quarterback’s ability to lead the offense.

“Oh yeah. Come on now….he can spin,” Garrett said. “All the confidence in the world. We gotta figure it out on offense as a whole.”

Even Carter spoke highly of Zach after the game, a far cry from last year when Zach emphatically denied blame for a loss to the Patriots in which the offense wasn’t able to get anything going around him, while the defense kept the team in play for a victory. That loss ended with Zach having to apologize to his teammates, who then rallied around backup Mike White. So, the outcome of the game was very similar, but publicly, the response has seemed different.

“We're good, I love where we're at,” Carter said. “Zach commands the huddle and makes plays. It’s not a one man show. It’s different from other sports. Football is the ultimate team sport for a reason, and we need to help him out.”
