Morash doubles down on Zach Wilson bye week criticism: 'This isn't 'A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving''

Tiki had a chance to talk with Zach Wilson on Friday about how he spent the bye week, and the Jets quarterback mentioned that he threw the football around with his family while out in Utah.

“’I threw the ball around with my younger brother and my dad, and we had great family time,’” Wilson said.

With that in mind, Tiki says Shaun Morash was off the mark criticizing Wilson for spending the bye week in Utah with his family and girlfriend.

“He did wholesome, family stuff,” Tiki said. “So all the nonsense about the girlfriend, the distraction of the girlfriend was all nonsense. You should feel bad. You should feel really bad, Shaun.”

That wasn’t enough for Morash to change his stance that Wilson should have stayed back in Florham Park to work on his craft and get ready for a big game against the Giants on Sunday.

“I don’t feel bad. This isn’t a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” Morash said. “Great, he was throwing the ball around with his brother. How about do that for two days, get your ass back on a plane and get to Jersey, pick up the phone and say ‘Allen Lazard, where you at? Let’s go to a high school and throw.’

“I don’t know what families you guys are from, but families are the ultimate distractions.”

Morash added that he did some research on how quarterbacks spend bye weeks, and arguably the best to ever play the position seems to have spent his week off more like how Morash wanted Wilson to spend his.

“You know what Tom Brady always claimed he was famous for during the bye week?” Morash said. “In fact, during his last Super Bowl year, Tom Brady admitted during the bye week that he went back and watched every single game they played that year three times.”
