Robert Saleh is putting his faith in Zach Wilson amid the Aaron Rodgers injury news.
Shortly after Gang Green finished an improbable overtime victory over the Bills, Saleh told reporters that Wilson “is the guy” to take over the starting role from Rodgers, and will be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
Wilson showed some of the same struggles he has dealt with throughout his career after replacing Rodgers on Monday, throwing a bad interception and looking uncomfortable in the pocket at times, but he also helped the Jets march down the field for the eventual game-tying score, capped off by an incredible catch from Zach Wilson.
Wilson was benched last year for Mike White, and New York was hoping for Rodgers to help the rest of their win-now roster contend in the here and now, while helping Wilson grow into the quarterback the Jets are hoping he could become. Instead, he will be thrown back into the fire.
