As the Jets enter a critical offseason, Sal says the team has made its bed with Aaron Rodgers, so the best path forward is to let the future Hall of Famer direct the ship into next season.
“He’s the only guy in the building I trust,” Sal said. “Forget Saleh, forget Joe Douglas, forget Hackett. Aaron Rodgers is the guy. The New York Jets are Aaron Rodgers. While you have him, use him.
“Let Aaron Rodgers bring in who he wants, or at least his suggestions. That is the best recipe for success for the Jets moving forward.”
If Sal were in Woody Johnson’s shoes, he would have cleaned house, but since the team is running back following last year’s disaster, he believes Rodgers being the leading voice in the front office, the locker room, and on the field gives the Jets the best chance for success.
“While he’s here, wouldn’t you want him to be as comfortable as possible?” Sal said. “Your whole thing is built around Aaron Rodgers. Let him bring in the guys that he wants.”
