Sal opened Wednesday’s show with a sense of excitement with the Jets’ offseason moves, especially after adding size and playmaking ability at the wide receiver position with the addition of Mike Williams.
Sal stressed that things can change from what the roster looks like on paper, as there will be injury concerns, but with Williams now opposite Garrett Wilson, and fellow newcomer Tyron Smith adding Hall of Fame talent to the offensive line, the offense feels like one that could be special.
“They’re loaded,” Sal said. “As far as going into the season, specifically on the offensive side, I don’t know if I’ve seen a Jet team more loaded in my lifetime.
“Now, there are big if’s and question marks, but think about what we’re talking about here.”
What we’re talking about is a dynamic receiver duo, star power in the backfield in Breece Hall, a completely revamped offensive line, a future Hall of Famer at quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, and a top 10 draft pick still to play with. That’s enough for Sal to be confident in the Jets leapfrogging the Bills and Dolphins in the AFC East this season.
“They should win the division,” Sal said.
