Sal says Jets should 'completely clean house': 'Everybody is to blame'

The Jets season is suddenly slipping away after entering the year with Super Bowl expectations, though much of the change in outlook is attributed to the torn Achilles that Aaron Rodgers suffered just four snaps into his New York tenure.

But BT and Sal believe Rodgers’ injury has cast a light on where the front office has failed in terms of its roster construction, leaving some to question just how successful the Jets really would have been even if the future Hall of Famer never got hurt.

“Joe Douglas,” BT said. “His leash is getting shorter.”

Sal is already prepared to take it a step, or multiple steps, further.

“I’d completely clean house,” Sal said. “I’ve had enough. I get consistency and continuity, but I’d clean house Everybody is to blame here.

“They should have already had a quarterback in here. We talked about it every day since. Who are they bringing into the building to be a real quarterback, in the very likely event that Zach Wilson was going to suck. Yet here we are, two weeks later, and the Jets still don’t have a real quarterback in the room. Now they’re screwed. Now their season is really over.”

Sal says the Jets having no sound backup plan for Rodgers, despite Rodgers’ age and calf issues in training camp, was an egregious bit of negligence by the Jets, and coupled with the disaster of Wilson as a No. 2 draft pick, he is ready to move on from this Gang Green regime.
