Tiki: Aaron Rodgers isn't cut out for New York

Aaron Rodgers clearly wasn’t happy with some of the reporting involving him of late, as he took his latest appearance on the Pat McAfee show to rip NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter for their reporting regarding his upcoming darkness retreat to contemplate his future.

For Tiki, Rodgers’ response to those reports was a red flag when it comes to him potentially joining the Jets.

“When you go and you're doing something that feels odd to normal society, which is going to sit in a cabin in the woods for four days and complete sensory isolation, we're going to talk about it,” Tiki said. “You have to. It's our job to, and for him to get offended by that, he's not going to handle the intensity of the New York media scape.

“I don't know if I want him here, because it's going to turn into a quick pain in the ass if Aaron Rodgers is thin, is that shallow.”

There have been stars in the past who came to New York and clashed with the media, and Tiki sees Rodgers as a prime candidate to join that unfortunate group if this is how he responds to reporting about him.

“Ian's job is to source information about things that are going on in the NFL world, and earlier this week, Aaron Rodgers took some real shots at Ian Rapoport, basically saying ‘he doesn't know anybody in my inner circle, I don't have his number, he doesn't have my number,’ basically, ‘Shut the hell up, stop talking about me,’” Tiki said.

“And as I'm reading the full quotes from his Pat McAfee weekly appearance…It just made me start to realize that if he is that sensitive, that he gets upset, that people, reporters, opinion makers, influencers who ever want to talk about him, he is going to struggle in New York and I don't know if it's the right fit for him. I don't know if I want him in New York, if this is going to be his reaction to things that don't matter. If Aaron Rodgers doesn't want people talking about him talking about his offseason, talking about his personal life, talking about all these things that are going on with Aaron Rodgers, he needs to stop talking.”
