As Zach Wilson gets ready to take the ball back and return to his role as the Jets starting quarterback, Tiki hopes Robert Saleh has sat him down to stress the importance of playing free and taking shots down the field.

Why? Because Tiki has seen a quarterback in Wilson that has played scared for nearly his entire career, and it shows on the field.

“The thing that’s held him back for the entirety of his career is his inability to take risks,” Tiki said. “He fears failure. That’s what happens when you’ve been given things in life, and you don’t know how to deal with failure.

“Failure is the most important thing anyone can experience. You suck for a little while, you figure out how not to suck, otherwise you’re not doing it. Zach is terrified of failing. He’s terrified of disappointing his team.”

By fearing failure, Tiki says Wilson has walked right into it, and needs to instead let his ability take over, trust his teammates, and stop worrying about how it will look if he fails, because he has done enough of that already.

“‘I’m out at basketball and hockey games, and look at my girlfriend. Look at me. Love me,’” Tiki said. “He wants to be loved, but the only way to be loved is to fail and succeed. He’s terrified of it.”
