The first quarter was one to forget for Jets running back Ty Johnson.

With Tevin Coleman out due to a concussion, Johnson had an opportunity to make a bigger impact for the shorthanded New York offense, but instead, dropped three passes in the first quarter, which tied the most drops by a Jet in an entire game since 2007, a mark set by Jerricho Cotchery.

Johnson’s second drop was particularly costly, coming on third down when he would have easily picked up the first. The throw from Zach Wilson was slightly behind Johnson, but still catchable. Instead, it led to a second straight three-and-out for the Jets.

Johnson’s third drop was in and out of his hands, much like the first.

New York entered the game with the most drops in the league, and Johnson didn’t help limit that total to start Sunday’s game.
