Joe Benigno is suffering through “football withdrawal.”
Why? Because in his eyes, the NFL season is already over, even with the Super Bowl just a week away.
“The Super Bowl is anticlimactic,” Joe said. “Football season ended last week.”
Of course, Joe will still tune in to watch the Eagles and Chiefs next Sunday, but it won’t feel the same. It will feel like an encore rather than a finale. Hundreds of millions will tune in to watch, but Joe says the real football fans had their Super Bowl last week during championship Sunday.
“It’s not for the hardcore football fan,” Joe said. “It’s for everybody else. It really is. The game is like secondary to the extravaganza that the whole Super Bowl experience is.
“You got the endless pregame show…does anybody sit and watch this garbage? Who cares?”
