Jalen Brunson heard loud "MVP" chants after leading the Knicks to a ninth straight win on Thursday night, and Boomer says that honor is not out of the question for the point guard.
"I would say he's right there in the running," Boomer said. "Maybe [Luka] Doncic, maybe [Joel] Embiid, maybe [Nikola] Jokic, but every night, this guy is out there going 100mph. there's no nights off for this guy…he is the engine of that team. He is the heartbeat of that team."
Regardless if Brunson wins, Boomer said his skill and impact on the Knicks cannot be denied.
"He is the most important player, and maybe the best player we've had here in 20 years," Boomer said. "He's the most well-rounded player, unselfish player, need-a-bucket player."
