BT is all in on the Knicks in 2024, but there is one move he wants to see them make to put the team over the top.
“DeMar DeRozan,” BT declared. “That is the guy that I want.
“DeMar DeRozan is the kind of guy, in Boston or down in Philly…can I see DeMar DeRozan sticking the game-winner? I could. I could see him getting to the line with his craftiness and his midrange game.”
DeRozan, 34, was an All-Star in each of the past two seasons with the Bulls, and is averaging 22.2 points per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from downtown. Chicago is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference at 22-26, and while reports indicate that they are unlikely to trade DeRozan, a quick losing skid could change that outlook before the deadline.
If it does, BT wants the Knicks to be all over it, and make DeRozan the scorer of the bench that New York needs.
“Play 24-28 minutes depending on the night and the matchup…and he wants to win,” BT said. “Whatever ego is there would be suppressed enough for the benefit of the team.”
