Cam Reddish was a DNP for the second straight game on Wednesday night, watching from the bench as the Knicks torched the Hawks at Madison Square Garden.
Reddish, who saw consistent starting roles earlier in the season, hasn’t started a game since Nov. 18, and since that time, has only seen his role lessen as reports surface of Reddish requesting a trade.
But Reddish denied those reports after Wednesday’s win.
“Y'all seem to know more than me. For real, I don’t know what y’all are talking about,” Reddish said. “But I haven’t requested a trade or nothing like that. But I guess reporters are gonna keep reporting. I’m at the house just chilling.”
Quentin Grimes has solidified his spot in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation now that he is back from a foot injury, and Reddish, along with Derrick Rose and Evan Fournier, have fallen out of that rotation, as Reddish continues to struggle to find playing time, a narrative that led to his trade from Atlanta and followed him for much of his early tenure with the Knicks.
“That's the nature of the beast, I guess,” Reddish said. “I’m learning.
This is my fourth year, and I’m learning a lot of the business side early. It is what it is. I’m gonna roll with what coach says, and that’s that.
“I was doing what I could to the best of my ability on both sides of the floor. I'm gonna say it again, all of the other stuff is out of my control.”
