“If I make predictions here they come true: We will win tonight, and we will win the Finals.”

With those 10 words, James Dolan called his shot on Wednesday’s edition of The Carton Show with Chris McMonigle, predicting that his Knicks will take a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals tonight and go on to parade the Larry O’Brien Trophy up the Canyon of Heroes later this month.

A 13-game playoff winning streak that went from down 2-1 in the first round to up 2-0 in the Finals can certainly bring that kind of confidence, even after a close Game 3 loss in Madison Square Garden Monday night, but Dolan

“I’m a little anxious, of course, but it’s not who we play, and it’s not the officiating, it’s how we play. If the Knicks team that we know and love comes out on the floor, there’s nothing that can stop them – not missed calls, not 7-foot-4 aliens,” Dolan said. “Nothing will stop them if they play their game. I believe in these guys, and everybody should believe in them, because they can do it.”

And, he doubled down on, really, the reason Mike Brown is coaching the Knicks instead of Tom Thibodeau: the Knicks were good enough last year to win the title, they just needed a little spark to get them over the hump.

“It’s what I said it was – Leon (Rose) and I believed this team was good enough last year, and fortunately, I think we’re proving it right,” Dolan said.
