Josh Hart came out with the jokes when asked about the impact Jalen Brunson has had on the Knicks, including in the postseason.
"He's undersized, overrated, overpaid," Hart said with a smile.
Then, he broke down how Brunson really has helped the Knicks to their first playoff series win in a decade.
"He's a star player," Hart said. "He's shown that last year in the playoffs, he showed that this whole season, and he's continuing to show it and prove people wrong.
"None of us in that locker room or the coaching staff or front office are surprised by the way he's playing."
Many around the league may be surprised, as Brunson's contract was criticized this past summer, but now, it looks like a bargain. Meanwhile, Hart has arguably been the biggest trade acquisition in the NBA this season outside of the Suns getting Kevin Durant, and the two Villanova teammates are clicking together on the floor as two of New York's biggest contributors since Hart was brought over from Portland.
