Knicks on officiating in game four loss: 'One of the toughest games I've been a part of'

Julius Randle fouled out of Monday's game four loss to the Heat after he was whistled for a charge while making a tough driving shot in the paint, all but sealing a Knicks defeat and putting the team on the brink of elimination.

Randle was one of three Knicks to log at least five fouls on the night, as Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson were also in deep foul trouble down the stretch.

Asked about the foul calls after the game, the Knicks made it clear that they weren't thrilled with how the game was called, though they had already made that clear based on their reactions on the court when the whistles were blowing.

"That was tough," Randle said. "As far as officiating, that's one of the toughest games I've been a part of. Usually, the physicality in the playoffs is up.

"I don't know. I had six fouls, and four or five of them were offensive fouls. That's never happened in my career. That's tough."

The Knicks committed 23 fouls in total, while the Heat were called for 21. So, there was no clear discrepancy in that department, but New York clearly took exception to some of the fouls they were called for on the offensive end.

"What do you think? Did you see them?" Hart said. "Did you see from my reaction? I get told about a foul, my Kyle Lowry foul, I'm trying to just get out of the way…I told the ref, 'Bam did the same thing, and Jimmy has a wide open layup.'"
