The Knicks had a chance for a thrilling win over LeBron James and the Lakers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, but were overpowered in overtime after Jalen Brunson led the way to a comeback late in the fourth quarter.
Brunson's heroics helped New York gain possession with the game tied and just 4.5 seconds left in regulation, but after he inbounded to Julius Randle, he never got the ball back.

Instead, Randle drove baseline on Anthony Davis, and LeBron James quickly came down to double team Randle, who tried to flail a turnaround shot over both defenders, but the buzzer sounded before he could get a shot off.
It was another case where the Knicks had a chance to win in regulation, but the final play led to Randle in isolation, and an eventual low-percentage shot. Knicks fans made it clear after the possession that they were tired of seeing the same old story in crunch time, and called out Randle for his latest frustrating final shot.
Julius Randle is absolutely NOT a closer. How many times do we have to see him take the ball on the last possession and absolutely botch it in the worst way possible. He's gotta be traded or JB has to take the last shot. #Knicks
