The Knicks lost their second straight game on Thursday night, and they will hold out hope that the game is all they lost.
Jalen Brunson, returning from a two-game absence after battling left foot soreness, left Thursday's defeat with the same injury. He did not play in the entire second half after playing 19 minutes in the first half.
Without Brunson, New York erased a 21-point deficit with a spirited comeback in the second half, but eventually fell to the Kings in Sacramento.
Brunson had been looking strong before the injury, scoring 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting, but now his availability for the rest of the team's west coast trip is in doubt, especially for the coming weekend, when the Knicks play a back-to-back against the Clippers and Lakers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
