The Knicks have sold out for game five back at Madison Square Garden, which is now a certainty after New York tied the series in game two on Wednesday night.
After selling out game one within minutes, the Knicks announced Friday that the third home game of the series, which will follow two previous sellouts of more than 15 thousand and 16 thousands fans for games on and two, will also be sold out, with more than 90 percent of the tickets going to fully vaccinated individuals.
"The energy our Knicks fans have brought to the playoffs has been incredible, proving there's nothing more exciting than Knicks basketball at The Garden," MSG Sports and President of team business operations David Hopkinson said in Friday's release. "It's moments like this that show us what's possible if everyone gets vaccinated. We'll all be able to get back to doing what we love, and that definitely includes being together to cheer on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden."
The Knicks are also looking to expand capacity again should the team make it past Atlanta in the first round, this time to a full sellout of The Garden's 19,040-seat arena. The team said all tickets will go to fully vaccinated individuals, meaning there will be no socially distanced sections to allow for a packed crowd that would begin in the first home game of the second round, should the Knicks make it that far.
Game one held 15,043 fans, while game two increased to 16,254, with both being the largest indoor gatherings in New York since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Game five will be Wednesday night.
