According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, the Bills are trading defensive lineman Boogie Basham to the New York Giants as part of a swap of late-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 25-year-old was Buffalo's former second-round pick (61st overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest University.

In his two seasons with the Bills, Basham appeared in 23 games, recording 37 total tackles, five tackles for loss, eight quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception.

Basham got caught up in a roster logjam at the pass rush position along with the likes of 2020 second-round pick A.J. Epenesa, 2021 first-round pick Greg Rousseau, veterans Shaq Lawson, Von Miller and Leonard Floyd, and players who stood out in training camp and the preseason like Kingsley Jonathan and Kameron Cline.

However, Basham joins a Giants organization with strong ties to the Bills in the front office and on the field. This includes general manager Joe Schoen, who served as assistant general manager to Brandon Beane in Buffalo when they drafted Basham in 2021. The team also is reportedly cutting Oshane Ximenes, with this deal perhaps shedding more light there.

The final roster cut-down to 53 players is due by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
