With Mitchell Robinson still out due to a fractured hand, the Knicks will be giving big man Norvel Pelle a longer look.
Once Pelle completes what is his second 10-day contract, New York will agree to a new deal, according to Ian Begley of SNY. The 28-year-old Pelle is with his third team this season, having previously made stops with the Kings and Nets.
Pelle has played in three games for the Knicks so far, averaging just over five minutes and scoring 1.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. The 6-foot-10 center hasn't played in the last three games, last appearing in a game on April 14 against the Pelicans, when he played nearly 13 minutes and shot 2-for-3 from the field.
Pelle will be used as frontcourt depth behind Nerlens Noel, who has been a defensive revelation for New York, and Taj Gibson, who has been a serviceable backup.
