BT doesn’t think the Knicks need to make a trade before this week’s deadline, but Sal says they do, and he has the name in mind that would be a home run deal.
The name is Dejounte Murray.
“He is the absolute perfect fit for this team,” Sal said. “The guy is a two-time All-Defensive player…he’s a perfect fit.
“I’m all in for it. I want Murray. I’m all in on the Murray/Brogdon conversation. You get them, and go win a championship.”
If they can only get one of Murray or Malcolm Brogdon, Sal wants Murray, who is averaging 21.5 points per game this season while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from downtown. The 27-year-old is also just two years removed from an All-Star season in which he led the league in steals.
“It’s a complete team where I don’t feel they’re lacking in significant areas,” Sal said. “Look at the bench in that scenario.”
