Just in New York alone, Yankees fans may remember the story of Adam Warren finding out he was dealt to the Cubs via a TV scroll because he was in St. Lucia and cell service was minimal, or Mets fans may remember how the team dealt Marlon Byrd to Pittsburgh hours before Marlon Byrd T-shirt night at Citi Field.

Well, how about this one: Athletics fans had organized a fan-fest of sorts on Saturday, and were in the middle of a raffle when the master of ceremonies had to break the news that Chris Bassitt had been traded to the Mets for two minor-league pitchers.

The problem? According to Alex Espinoza of our sister station KGMZ in the Bay Area, the fest had JUST raffled off a hat, baseball, and pair of cleats signed by Bassitt shortly before the announcement.

So now, there is one lucky/unlucky Athletics fan out there whose raffle tickets paid off for all of a few minutes, and is now the proud owner of a set of throwback autographs.
