Mets fans were letting Braves outfielders Ronald Acuña Jr. and Eddie Rosario hear it during Friday’s game at Citi Field, and the two Atlanta outfielders made sure to remind the jeering fans that their team was still chasing what the Braves were already able to accomplish last season.

As Acuña and Rosario heard the jeers, they turned to the crowd and pointed to their ring fingers, reminding the hostile crowd that it was the Braves who were the defending champs, and the first-place Mets were still seeking their first title in 36 years.

“During one of the pitching changes, Ronald came over to me and asked if I had any problems, and I asked him,” center fielder Michael Harris II said, via The Athletic. “He said, ‘Yeah, they’re crazy over there.’ I haven’t had any problems, but I heard in left they were saying, ‘Rosario, you suck,’ and I saw him point to his ring finger. That was good.”

Acuña also said he pointed to his ring finger, and added a little more payback by robbing Pete Alonso of a home run in the bottom of the first, which would have thrust the Mets right back into the game.
