BT could not have been much lower on the Mets just weeks ago, but after seeing some spring performances and one key acquisition, he is changing his tune on the eve of Opening Day.
"My opinion on what the Mets can be is changing for the good," BT said. "I think Luis Severino is going to be fantastic. Jose Quintana is a pro, you didn't have him for the first couple months a year ago. The positive news on Senga. Edwin Diaz back. I like the bullpen moves they made. Year two of Alvarez."
The signing of J.D. Martinez has also boosted BT's estimation of this Mets team, and while he isn't saying that they are now a lock for the playoffs, he does believe they will be able to compete for a Wild Card spot, a far cry from feeling like it was already a lost season just a month ago.
"I think the Mets have a chance to be competitive," BT said. "I did not think that a month ago."
