Diaz family rocked split Mets, Reds jerseys to support brothers Edwin, Alexis

The Diaz’s enjoyed a family reunion of sorts last month when the Mets visited the Reds, bringing together brothers Edwin and Alexis Diaz, but the family was able to do it again on Monday night with Cincinnati in town to face New York at Citi Field.

This time, the family showed up in style, wearing split Mets/Reds (Meds? Rets?) jerseys to show their split allegiance to the two siblings who are part of opposing pitching staffs.

Edwin Diaz, the Mets dominant closer, and Alexis Diaz, the Reds 25-year-old reliever, are very close, and while neither got into Monday’s game, maybe the family will be able to cheer them both on when the series continues on Tuesday night.

Both have certainly earned time on the mound, as Edwin is one of the best closers in baseball, and Alexis holds a 1.94 ERA in 41.2 innings of work.
