Evan would've rather seen 'anything for Jacob deGrom' than a Max Scherzer tribute video

How’s this for bizarre: even Evan Roberts agrees that the Mets giving Max Scherzer a tribute video on Monday night was a waste of time – or, in his words, “disrespectful and undeserved.”

“Sometimes, Shaun Morash says something that makes you hate him, but then a couple hours later, you realize, he’s right,” Evan said. “I went to Citi Field last night, and witness a freakin’ tribute video for Max Scherzer…when you brought it up yesterday, I thought you were just being a trolling douche, but that is indeed what they did!”

And as Shaun took his praise and noted that this is what happens now, because organizations want to play nice with players and fans, well…

“What annoyed me last night – the crowd booed, and that’s not surprising, and that was the first time I ever booed Max Scherzer,” Evan said, before Morash remembered Evan calling him a ‘mercenary piece of crap’. “Yes, but I don’t boo my own guys…but when that video started playing, I started booing loudly because it was my honest rection to it. And my other reaction is that how do you as a team put together something for Max Scherzer before Jacob deGrom? I know he’s not there, but do something!”
