The Mets will look to end their skid in Thursday's home opener, arriving in Queens after a sweep at the hands of the Brewers, including dropping Wednesday's series finale in walk-off fashion.
New York, now 3-4 on the young season, finally showed signs of offensive life on Wednesday following two straight shutout losses, but were still unable to snap their skid.
Still, Francisco Lindor says the 2023 Mets have what it takes to accomplish their lofty goals.
"I believe in this team, I believe in every single guy that we have," Lindor said. "We have what it takes, we have the 'it' factor.
"They outplayed us, flat-out, simple."
The Mets won't arrive at Citi Field with the best of vibes after the sweep in Milwaukee, but always the optimist, Lindor would prefer to be going through such a stretch now, in early April, as opposed to at the end of September, like New York suffered through last season en route to losing the NL East.
"We don't want to go out there and lose," Lindor said. "With that being said, I'm glad it's happening now and not later in the year. We have to bounce back."
