Francisco Lindor nearly shared the left side of the infield with his good friend Carlos Correa, but he knew to save any emotion or reaction until the deal became official, which it never did.
Now, Lindor can only wish his friend the best in Minnesota.
“Nothing concrete until it’s actually happened,” Lindor said. “He’s an amazing player and a great person. I have fun watching him play.”
Many saw Correa as the missing piece for the Mets, who could still use a big bat in the middle of the lineup. He and Lindor would have represented the best left side of the infield in the game, both offensively and defensively, but after his medicals raised concerns, that dream is over.
Still, Lindor is more than confident with rolling with what the Mets have now.
“I'm happy with what we have here. I'm super concentrated on our team.
I wish him nothing but the best.
“I know when he takes the field, he’s always gonna put on a show.”
