After hearing David Stearns talk about the Mets offseason and outlook for the season on Mets Hot Stove, Keith wonders why Mets fans aren't more irate with their front office given the lack of moves this winter.
"I'm trying to hear a Met fan call up and tell me about David Stearns…what an offseason coming off of 74-75 wins…waiting on a Pete Alonso extension. You thought Craig Counsell was gonna be your manager, instead you have a first-time manager in Carlos Mendoza. You thought you were gonna get Yamamoto," Keith said. "Why not get J.D. Martinez? Why not Justin Turner? I guess it doesn't fit the budget. I know you're not content. I'm not even gonna ask.
"I know if I was a Met fan, I would be pissed off."
Instead, Keith has noticed many Mets fans expressing belief in the team's new strategy, even if it seemingly means going into the 2024 season with little additions made to a roster that failed to win 80 games a year ago.
"You're gonna have one of the highest payrolls in the league again, but Luis Severino will be pitching every five days," Keith said. "Harrison Bader is your center fielder.
"Put your foot down, say 'We're not accepting this.'"
