The Mets and Marlins waited through a three hour rain delay on Thursday night, but the game was eventually suspended in the top of the ninth inning with Miami leading 2-1.

With the Marlins already frustrated with Tuesday’s cancellation due to “unplayable field conditions” that stemmed from the Mets not having the tarp down while on the road over the weekend, manager Skip Schumaker was clearly furious during Thursday’s delay. Video showed the manager arguing with umpires and a member of the Mets grounds crew, though later in the evening, he was helping the crew with the tarp during a brief moment.

Marlins fans were also furious during the delay, as Miami is playing in pivotal games for the final playoff spot, currently 0.5 games ahead of the Cubs. So, fans did not seem to like the Mets grounds crew taking a group photo in front of the Marlins dugout during the delay.

The game is suspended with a potential scenario being the Marlins coming back to New York on Monday to finish the game if it is necessary to solve the playoff clinching scenarios. If so, the Marlins would need to finish their final series of the season in Pittsburgh on Sunday, travel back to New York on Monday, then to wherever their Wild Card Series, likely in Milwaukee against the Brewers on Tuesday.
