Former Met Asdrubal Cabrera clearly didn’t like the way Carlos Castro reacted to his third home run of the night in a Venezuelan Winter League game on Friday night.
Castro rocked his third home run, walked out of the box as he admired the shot, then flipped his bat and started jawing towards the Caribes dugout as he neared first base, where Cabrera was waiting with a left hook to Castro’s jaw.
Cabrera more landed his forearm into Castro than his fist, but it sent Castro to the ground as benches cleared in a wild scene.
Cabrera spent parts of three seasons with the Mets from 201 to 2018, but didn’t see any MLB action in 2022. He last played with the Reds and Diamondbacks in 2021.
