Rockies interested in Brandon Nimmo, contract estimate as much as $120 million: Report

The MLB season is not even over yet, but the Mets reportedly are already facing stiff competition for Brandon Nimmo.

According to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, the Rockies have the New York outfielder on their "preliminary wish list," and could make a free agent push to pry Nimmo away from the Mets, despite his expressed desire to stay in Queens.

Saunders estimated it taking roughly five years and nearly $120 million for the Rockies to land Nimmo, one of several members of the Mets 101-win core that is now a free agent.

Nimmo, 29, batted .274 with 16 home runs and a league-leading seven triples in 2022, arguably his best season as a big leaguer.
