The Mets are reportedly calling up one of their top prospects in Mark Vientos, according to multiple reports.
The move, first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan, comes as Vientos has been tearing up Triple-A all season, while the Mets offense continues to struggle, most recently falling to the Rays to drop to three games below .500 for the first time in Buck Showalter's managerial tenure.
Vientos, 23, is hitting .333/.416/.688 with 13 home runs in 38 games this season with Triple-A Syracuse.
The Norwalk, Connecticut native has 36 big league at-bats to his resume, logging six hits and one home run.
No corresponding move has been reported, but the promotion of the infielder could mean an option for fellow infielder Luis Guillorme, who still has one option left.
