Major League Baseball has dished out its punishments for Thursday’s benches-clearing altercation between the Mets and Cardinals, and nobody on the New York side will serve suspensions.

St. Louis third baseman Nolan Arenado, who took a pitch high and tight from Yoan Lopez in the bottom of the eighth inning after yet another Mets player was hit, was handed a two-game suspension, while Genesis Cabrera, who hit J.D. Davis on the ankle earlier in the inning and pulled Pete Alonso down from behind during the chaos once benches emptied.

Cardinals first base coach Stubby Clapp, who also helped pull Alonso down from behind, did not receive any punishment.

St. Louis pitcher Jack Flaherty was fined, as was Lopez and fellow Mets pitcher Taijuan Walker, who is nearing a return from injury this weekend.

The hit by pitch to Davis was the 19th of the season for the Mets, by far the most in the league. Alonso was hit in the head the previous game, and both he and Francisco Lindor have both been hit in the face this season.

The Mets will host the Cardinals in just over two weeks.
