Edwin Diaz made a splashy new purchase with his $102 million contract he signed last winter.
The injured Mets closer bought a custom necklace for $250,000, loaded with diamonds, his uniform number, and a trumpet to pay homage to his “Narco” entrance song that made him a viral sensation during his All-Star 2022 campaign.
The jeweler, Victor Rodriguez, told TMZ that the trumpet charm itself sports 75 carats of diamonds, and the necklace, which has Diaz’s No. 39 in blue diamonds, sports 100 carats.
Diaz has begun throwing as he works his way back from a knee injury suffered in the World Baseball Classic, but until he returns, he can enjoy his flashy new jewelry.
