Edwin Diaz silenced the Braves with three straight outs, all via strikeout, to close out Monday's win, but did he also literally shush them after the final out was recorded?
The red-hot Mets closer fanned Matt Olson, Austin Riley, and Marcell Ozuna to finish off a series-opening win, then gestured the classic zipping motion across his lips while facing the direction of the Braves dugout, smiling and adding a playful laugh while repeating it.
Whomever it was intended for, it certainly seemed to have a joking nature, but Diaz making the middle of the Atlanta lineup look foolish in the ninth inning in his third straight day of work was certainly no joke.
