As the Mets get set to resume action after losing two straight series on the road, BT says the team has some big-time holes that, if left unchecked, will sink the season.
"The holes are threatening to destroy their season," BT said. "The holes that Billy Eppler either inadequately or completely ignored in addressing, are so problematic that it might derail the entire season. The bullpen is awful.
"The New York Mets, and this is all on Billy Eppler, the Mets are rolling out at least three or four mop-up arms every single night. These guys are duds. When you hit like this, you gotta win. You're leaving wins on the board."
With that in mind, and with how New York responded after an incredible weekend in Queens where the young bats came up big and Francisco Lindor seemed to find his stroke, BT finds it hard to see the Mets as a real threat right now.
"It's hard to take the Mets seriously," BT said. "They don't handle prosperity well. That series against the Guardians was incredible…boom, go to Chicago and lose two out of three."
