Daniel Vogelbach, true to form, experienced one of the three true outcomes in all three of his first plate appearances during Thursday's series finale against the Cubs.
Vogelbach began the night 0-for-2 with two strikeouts and a walk, playing into the frustration of many Mets fans who want the DH to be more aggressive at the plate. Many argue that Vogelbach hunts for walks.
Former Mets star Jose Reyes appears to be a part of that group, as he tweeted as such during Thursday's game.
"I’m not sure if Vogey understands this concept," Reyes tweeted. "But you have to SWING THE BAT to hit the ball."
Vogelbach entered the night batting just .229 with two home runs, and has a .368 on base percentage compared to a .333 slugging percentage. Now, one of the franchise's most talented infielders also wants to see Vogelbach take the bat off his shoulder.
