Another injury blow to the Mets starting rotation, which continues to see its depth dwindle.
The team moved Corey Oswalt to the 10-day IL, retroactive to July 5, with right knee inflammation, the latest starter to go down with an injury after David Peterson hit the IL with an oblique strain and Joey Lucchesi was lost for the season due to Tommy John surgery.
Carlos Carrasco and Noah Syndergaard both remain out as well, though Carrasco is zeroing in on a return later this month.
Oswalt pitched the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Yankees, taking the loss after allowing three runs on four hits in four innings of work.
Robert Stock will be called up in Oswalt’s place, and is expected to start for New York on Wednesday.
