Fans still aren't happy with Buck Showalter and Billy Eppler, with many frustrated over Eppler's trades not panning out (like Daniel Vogelbach and Darin Ruf), and others angry with Showalter's reluctance to consistently play youngsters like Mark Vientos.
But Sal says anyone calling for their jobs is "foolish."
"The fans foolishly call to get rid of these guys. For Buck and Eppler, it's a ridiculous thought," Sal said. "They're coming off a 101-win season.
"You can't entertain the idea of firing Billy Eppler and Buck Showalter just because they're having a slow start to the year or a down year through the first three months of the season, coming off last year. You can't entertain it."
On the other side of the city, Sal can understand it a little more from Yankee fans that want a change in leadership, mainly because of one key difference. Unlike Eppler and Showalter, Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman have been given much more time to prove themselves and see out their vision.
"With Boone and Cashman, it's a little different, because Cashman has been there forever," Sal said. "Either way, Boone isn't the problem, and Buck isn't the problem."
