After BT predicted that the Mets would have one of the worst starting rotations in baseball in 2024, Sal countered with the prediction that one of their biggest rotation question marks could become their ace by season's end.
Even with Rookie of the Year candidate Kodai Senga in the fold, Sal believes Luis Severino could bounce back in a big way in 2024, and dominate in his first year with the Mets.
"I'm not as high on Senga as everyone else. I like him, don't get me wrong," Sal said. "I love his competitiveness, the extra stuff he brings. He's very entertaining, he's a bulldog…he's not an ace.
"I'm not saying Severino is, but he has the potential to be an ace. "I think it's a strong rotation with Senga two, Quintana three, Manaea and Houser four and five."
