Tiki: Mets are becoming 'redemption tour' for former Yankee castoffs

Tiki began Thursday’s show with some playful trolling of Evan after the Mets reportedly signed another former Yankee in Harrison Bader just hours before.

“Do you want Joey Gallo? How about Aaron Hicks?” Tiki laughed. “First it’s Luis Severino, then it’s Harrison Bader. It’s like you’re the castoff redemption tour for former Yankee players. Injured former players, who didn’t really do much for the Yankees when you needed them to.”

But in all seriousness, Tiki doesn’t understand why the Mets seem to be so keen on adding former Yankees that didn’t have desirable endings to their pinstriped tenure.

“They go to the Mets, and you think they’re gonna be perfect fits for the Mets after being cast off by the Yankees,” Tiki said. “You’re trying to take these Yankee castoffs and trying to make them a gourmet meal…this feels like a Yankees reunion going on here.”

Evan was spirited in his defense.

“I don’t view Met offseasons through the prism of ‘Has that guy ever played for the Yankees?’” Evan said. “I look at it through the prism of, ‘Can that guy help my baseball team?’ I thought about Harrison Bader as a fourth outfielder, which is what he is. I thought about him as a brilliant center fielder, which is what he is…I thought of everything but you guys’ dopey Yankee leftover crap.

"Steve Cohen and all that money, he bought a bunch of ifs and buts."
