Ben Simmons left Thursday night’s game with knee soreness after sitting for much of the fourth quarter in a loss to the Sixers the night before, as his absence seemed to frustrate head coach Jacque Vaughn, who appeared to roll his eyes when discussing Simmons’ injury.
When it was brought up on Boomer & Gio Friday morning, Gio was not surprised at all to hear about Simmons nursing another injury, in a time where the Nets need more from him with Kevin Durant still on the shelf.
“Is there anything that he hasn’t had wrong with him?” Gio said.
Gio is hoping Simmons can get healthy, but not for the most supportive of reasons.
“I just hope he’s healthy for the playoffs so we can watch him totally melt down, and have that be the biggest story,” Gio said. “How he can’t hit a layup or a shot.”
