The Brooklyn Nets added five players in Thursday’s NBA Draft, and acquired a sixth by bringing in Javon Carter in the deal that sent Landry Shamet to Phoenix on draft day.

Speaking to the media the day after, Brooklyn GM Sean Marks said “we’re ecstatic to have them,” noting that when it comes to their two first-rounders, Cameron Thomas and Day’Ron Sharpe, in particular, the Nets are “very comfortable with who they both are and how they’ll fit,” and “excited to get both these guys in the gym with our development coaches and go from there."

Marks also said the three second-round selections are “all very competitive with high upside,” and here’s a quick quote from Marks about all five draft picks:

No. 27 pick Cameron Thomas: “Cam is an incredible scorer, shooter, and I think he’s a fit with what we’re doing moving forward.”

No. 29 pick Day’Ron Sharpe: “Day’Ron has size, mobility and his ability to stretch the floor, which to be quite frank, hasn’t really been seen yet.”

No. 44 pick Kessler Edwards: “We enjoyed watching Kessler with his ability to stretch the floor and get out there as a positional need for us.”

No. 49 pick Marcus Zegarowski: “Marcus can really stretch the floor and is a fierce, competitive, very tough individual.”

No. 59 pick RaiQuan Gray: “RaiQuan is a very unique player who can step out to stretch the floor some, facilitate as a big, handle the ball. If you’ve watched him play at Florida State, he’s very well coached with a high, high basketball IQ."
