The Rangers will take the ice Wednesday night against the Flyers, but the entire coaching staff won’t be present.

The team announced that head coach David Quinn, along with assistant coaches Jacques Martin, David Oliver and Greg Brown, will all be unavailable for Wednesday night’s game in accordance with the league’s COVID-19 protocols.

As a result, Hartford Wolfpack head coach Kris Knoblauch, associate head coach Gord Murphy and Rangers associate general manager Chris Drury will be behind the bench, with Knoblauch serving as the acting head coach.

While the coaching staff is lost for Wednesday, the team does get back defenseman Adam Fox and forward Pavel Buchnevich, who are both back in the lineup after being taken off the COVID-19 protocol list. They were both placed on the list on Monday, while Phil Di Giuseppe was put on the list on Sunday.

With Fox and Buchnevic back with the team within days, the same could happen for the coaching staff, so long as their placement on the protocol list is not because of a positive test.
