Igor Shesterkin was named a Vezina Trophy finalist earlier this week (and considered the favorite), and on Thursday, the NHL announced that the Rangers goalie is also a finalist for the Hart Trophy.

Shesterkin, who helped keep New York’s season alive with a game five win over the Penguins on Wednesday night, would be the first goaltender in seven years to win the award, the second ever in Rangers history (Chuck Ray won it in 1950), and the third goalie ever (Carey Price in 2015 and Jose Theodore in 2002).

Shesterkin led the league with a 2.07 GAA and a .935 save percentage this season, serving as the backbone for a Blueshirts team that ended a five-year playoff drought.

The other finalists are Edmonton’s Connor McDavid and Toronto’s Auston Matthews.
