The Rangers could be looking to bolster their offense, as Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports that the team is showing “increased interest” in Ducks winger Rickard Rakell.
Rakell, a pending unrestricted free agent, has 15 goals on the year and could fill an area of need for New York at right wing. Despite being a rental, Staple reports that Rakell could command a first-round pick in return.

Per Staple, the Blueshirts also still have their eyes on Vancouver’s J.T. Miller, who has 21 goals and 61 points on the season. Earlier reports indicate that the asking price for Miller was too high, but New York could hold out for a better deal closer to the deadline if the Canucks are set on moving him.
