Sal said on Thursday's solo show that Jets fans, or fans of any team for that matter, can't root for their teams to lose in Sunday's regular season finale.
BT returned on Friday fired up to counter that claim.
"I don't care what you think. I don't care what anybody thinks," BT said. "I don't care how anybody judges my fandom. I couldn't care less if the Jets win or lose…The Jets have a head coach that I don't trust. They have a quarterback playing this week who means absolutely nothing in my world. I saw high-profile players, Sauce Gardner among them, visibly quit against the Browns.
"I'm actually hoping they lose more than I'm hoping they win."
A loss could improve their draft stock, but Sal says that shouldn't be on the minds of any fans on Sunday. It should just be on the here and now, where Gang Green has a chance to finally end its losing skid against Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
"As a fan, you're doing yourself a disservice…if you do not sit there and root for your team to win," Sal said. "This is what sports fandom is about. It's not about the draft and analytics and all that stuff…as a fan, you should be rooting for them to win. Worry about the other stuff afterward."
